December 01–10, 2020
10 Days from/to Cairo, Egypt

We invite you to experience a once-in-a-lifetime journey to Egypt. The Great Pyramids of Giza, and other treasures of Egypt have beckoned travelers for more than two millennia. On this luxury small gay group journey, visit venerable tombs and temples to piece together the life and times of one of the world’s greatest ancient civilizations. Visit bustling Cairo, the Great Pyramids, the Sphinx, and the new Grand Egypt Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of antiquities, including artifacts recovered from the great Tutankhamen’s tomb.

Egypt luxury gay tour

Cruise the fabled Nile in style — like the pharaohs once did — on the luxurious Nile Adventurer, disembarking at iconic sites as well as little-known temples. Ride like a local on camelback and sail in a felucca on the Nile. Go off the beaten path, flying to Abu Simbel, one of the most awesome monuments of ancient Egypt.

With sand-covered tombs, austere pyramids and towering Pharonic temples, Egypt brings out the explorer in all of us.

Treasures of Egypt Luxury Gay Tour & Nile River Cruise Itinerary

Day 1 - December 01, 2020, Tuesday
Arrive in Cairo, Egypt
• Arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met and transferred to the Mena House Hotel.
Overnight: Marriott Mena House Hotel, Cairo

Day 2 - December 02, 2020, Wednesday
Cairo & The Great Pyramids
• Visit the new Grand Egyptian Museum, home to the largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including treasures from Tutankhamun and items dating to 4000 BC. During your visit, view its famed Mummy Room, featuring remains of ancient Egypt’s pharaohs and nobility. Complex overlooks the pyramids of Giza and is a one of the largest museums in the world displaying the heritage of a single civilization. The Museum contains over 100,000 artefacts, reflecting Egypt’s past from prehistory until the Greek and Roman Periods. The GEM also hosts over 5,000 artefacts from the tomb of the golden Pharaoh Tutankhamun.
• After lunch, visit The Great Pyramids of Giza are the only present-day survivors of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, built over 4,500 years ago as giant tombs. The pyramids are truly monumental in scale, with the largest, Khufu’s, constructed from over two million blocks. Revel in the opportunity to enter the interior of one of these legendary pyramids. Ride like a local on camel back, then visit the Solar Museum – site of Cheops’ funeral boat – and the Great Sphinx.
Overnight: Marriott Mena House Hotel, Cairo

Day 3 - December 03, 2020, Thursday
Cairo
• Visit the newly refurbished Coptic Museum. This beautiful museum was first completed in 1908, using land belonging to the Coptic Church in Egypt. It displays a wonderful collection of sculpture dating from Pre-Christian times up until the fifth Century, as well as bone carvings, frescoes, icons relics and colorful textiles.
• Next, visit the Synagogue of Ben Ezra, built during the time of the once-thriving Jewish community in Egypt under the leadership of Rabbi Ben Ezra. Inside, the so-called “Geniza Documents” were found, a treasure hailed as an unparalleled source of information about the life of the Jews in Egypt’s past. After lunch, continue your tour to the Citadel, a medieval fortress built in 1176 to protect the city from Crusaders, which sits high above Cairo on a limestone hill.
• With its grand, soaring architecture and rich decoration, the Mosque of Sultan Hassan, completed in 1363, is one of the finest in Egypt and also houses the mausoleum where Sultan Hassan’s sons are buried. Finally, visit the fascinating Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, reputed to be the largest bazaar in the Middle East.
Overnight: Marriott Mena House Hotel, Cairo

Day 4 - December 04, 2020, Friday
Cairo to Luxor
• Transfer to airport for flight to Luxor. Upon arrival in Luxor, transfer to Luxor Hilton Hotel.
• Visit the Tombs of the Nobles: On the West Bank sit 400 tombs of Theban aristocrats, some of which you can enter. The tomb walls were white-washed and painted with murals of the nobles’ daily lives, making them quite different from royal tombs, where relief work focused on judgment and resurrection.
• Visit the remains of the Workers’ Village at Deir El Medina. This self-contained village on the West Bank where the workmen who built the kings’ and queens’ tombs lived in mud brick houses with their families. The site gives archeologists a view of how urban people lived in ancient Egypt. The magnificent Medinet Habu is a series of temples built by the Pharaoh Ramses III (1182-1151 BC) and second only to Karnak Temple in size and complexity
Overnight: Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa, Luxor

Day 5 - December 28, 2020, Saturday

• Check-in to the five-star deluxe Nile cruise boat where you are welcomed by the reception staff. Right away, you have the opportunity to visit the strikingly graceful Temple of Luxor.
• After lunch on board, visit the West Bank of Luxor to explore the Valley of the Kings. You also have the chance to visit at least one tomb in the Valley of the Queens and visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. On the way back to the river Nile, pass by the famed Colossi of Memnon, known in Ancient Greek times for their haunting voices at dawn.

Day 6 - December 06, 2020, Sunday
Karnak to Esna
• After breakfast on board, begin your day with a visit to the Temple of Karnak, where generations of pharaohs wished to record their names.
• After Lunch, your Egyptologist guides you round the Greco-Roman Temple of Khnum at Esna. The beautifully preserved Great Hypostle Hall was built during the reign of the Roman Emperor Claudius; it was excavated from the silt that had accumulated through centuries of annual Nile floods and is about nine meters lower than present-day street level.
Overnight: Sanctuary Nile Adventurer

Day 7 - December 07, 2020, Monday
Edfu to Kom Ombo
• Following breakfast, explore the Temple of Horus, falcon-headed god of the Sky.
• Lunch is served as you cruise to Kom Ombo and, after, visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek, considered by some ancient Egyptians to be the creator of the world.
• Later, afternoon tea is served in the lounge and you have the chance to take part in an Egyptian cooking lesson as you sail to Aswan.
• Tonight’s dinner on board is an Egyptian Night costume party for all guests, with a chance to dress up in traditional Egyptian galabeya.

Day 8 - December 08, 2020, Tuesday
Aswan
• A breakfast buffet is served on board and the morning is yours to enjoy at leisure.
• Enjoy lunch on board, followed by a short motorboat ride to visit the majestic Philae Temple on the Island of Agilika.
• Next proceed to the Granite Quarries, which supplied the ancient Egyptians with most of the hard stone used in pyramids and temples. Here you see the Unfinished Obelisk, located in the northern region of the stone quarries.
• Next take a ride on a felucca (a typical Egyptian sail boat) around Elephantine Island, Lord Kitchener’s Botanical Gardens and the Agha Khan Mausoleum.

The two temples of Ramses II at Abu Simbel are each fronted by colossal statues up to 20 meters (66 feet) high, and are famed as the most impressive monuments remaining of Ancient Egypt. Recently, the temples were threatened by the waters of Lake Nasser, and with the help of a UNESCO campaign they were cut into blocks, raised piece-by-piece and reassembled in a new position higher up the hillside.
• Return on a flight to Cairo for an afternoon at leisure and farewell dinner.
Overnight: Heliopolis Towers Hotel, Cairo

Day 10 - December 10, 2020, Thursday
